Aftermath Hurricanes from the Atlantic Ocean and Bitcoin
The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season is not even over yet and already it is known to be as extremely active. The hurricane season started on 1 June and will last till 30 November. There are 21 hurricane names given of which Harvey of category 4, Irma of category 5, Jose, Maria and many others have demonstrated that they are monster storms. They plagued islands in the Caribbean and had landfalls in the United States.
Early September 2017 the Dutch Island of Sint Maarten was almost completely ruined by Hurricane Irma with her category 5, the strongest windstorm so far measured. Dutch marines were sent in to fix the roads, restore the communication lines and keep order, because some people were committing crime by looting the stores.
Hurricane Maria with her category 4 ravaged the American Island of Puerto Rico. Those who managed to leave the island before the storm to safer grounds have no idea what they will find when they return home.
Hurricane Ophelia hits Ireland hard this month of October and will have a landfall as a tropical storm in the United Kingdom. It is of a category 2 or 3. Many homes in Ireland lost power.
According to expert in gold and silver, Mike Mahoney, Bitcoin was of no use to barter on the island of Puerto Rico. People use their gold or silver to barter for cash; cigarettes as payment for a lift elsewhere. The gasoline price is much too high. He says it is good to have a balance in gold, silver and cryptocurrency. But in this case hard cash was the norm.
