When you enter one room after another you think that there is nothing else that could surprise you but often we are stunning seeing the paintings or sculptures in either size of a human or the paintings that might take the whole wall. Many works have had restoration work and that makes the old colours to brigthen up again.
What is also noticeable that old oil paintings have this special effect so called craquelure, that is when you can see cracks in paints often if anyone would like to imitate an old master's works. In original old works it happens because of ageing of paints. We could see many of those works and many real good old paintings.
