Any novice beekeeper, including me, will be puzzled by the question of where exactly and how to place their apiary on their land plot, because there are quite a lot of opinions on this matter and, as some believe, the size of the honey harvest depends on it.

Well, for starters, you need to have your own land for this and understand where exactly the buildings will be, and on my plots there are already buildings and I can somehow orient myself with the location of my future apiary.

So, first of all, it seems to me, it would be nice to place the hives in the shade, so that the bees spend less energy on cooling the hive on hot days, and cooling is always more difficult than heating, you know how expensive an air conditioner is in an apartment, and if you had a marine aquarium, then you are familiar with the large amounts of money for electricity that have to be spent on cooling the water.

As for bees, the more energy they spend on such events, the less energy they have left for the main work, bringing honey to the hive.

Someone says that the direction of the hive entrance is important, north, south, east, or west, but I tend to believe those beekeepers who say that the direction does not matter, since during the migration of the apiary, they have to install the hives differently and nothing depends on this.

There is another point in the positioning of the hives on the site and this is related to neighbors, which we will talk about separately another time.
