ADSactly Witness Report 2018/03/12
Witness Update Report #2
We are happy to announce that our witness node has been fully operational, with no downtime or any missed blocks, since our last report. That was up until this past Friday, as 32GB RAM is no longer enough to run a witness node, we had to upgrade our host sever node to 64GB RAM. We decided to upgrade a few other things as well, and unfortunately we missed two blocks during the upgrade downtime. The new installation was successful and the replay of the blockchain was a little longer as expected, however everything is running perfectly on the new server.
The influx of support has been absolutely fantastic and our active rank is now currently at #59 and we are growing little by little. Please take a moment to read our Witness Proposal, and if you support the same fundamentals as we do, please consider voting for us as witness here.
Server Upgrade
We successfully upgraded to a new 64GB RAM server for our ADSactly witness node. The reason for this is because Steem has recently encountered a growth point where block producers, or witnesses require more than 32GB of RAM. This high demand on memory recourses will only exponentially increase the more users join, this is why we are opting to for an RPC node. The blockchain file is also now over 80GB in size, so we decided to upgrade our HD to 500GB, as well, and have changed from 1Gb/s line to a much faster 10Gb/s line.
ADSactly
We have gained over 6k followers in just the last month on our @adsactly blog, which currently puts us at over 24,6k followers. This is truly amazing and we are humbled at this phenomenal support from the entire steemit community. We absolutely can not thank all the Steemians enough, especially those who have joined our discord server and have become active members of ADSactly. The success of our blog is only due to the amazing content creators and those who tirelessly work in the background to make sure we bring only the best content with each and every post.
We welcome you to join the society, meet people, talk to people, make friends and establish fair relations with other ADSactly members. You will receive ADSactly community units just for showing up and taking part in our voice hangouts, for helping out with promotions, for helping new members feel welcomed, showing them around and helping them get familiar with the society, for finding new projects that might catch interest of other members. Sometimes even for being generally a good person willing to help others.
The Future
As we mentioned in our previous post, we plan to acquire a full public RPC node with 1 TB of RAM, within the next few months. The main reason for the delay is that we had already allocated some funds for this, but due to the low markets that we are all currently experiencing. We will have to be little bit more patient for the time being, until the market recovers. We are very hopeful in a full crypto market recovery across all coins very soon. We are believe in the longevity of the Steemit, but more so in the people that make platform what it is.
