InVinoFelicitas Blind Wine Tasting in Mumbai India
It has been 1 year since when I landed in Mumbai for my carrier into hospitality.🏢
Completing WSET Level 2 🍷in wines was a great experience and the knowledge which I gained is like History, Geography, Weather, & life of wine from all across the world.🌎
One odd day my friend called and said to be free on Saturday, we will do something new. I was like what's new? He said Wine Blind Tasting 😀I was excited and said yes as it was something new and I wanted to try.
He informed me about rules and regulations and added me to Whats-app group in which 4 new IHM Mumbai students were also part of it and all WSET LEVEL 2 and one Level 3.
We all got one wine each of the single grape varietal to make it easy as it was something new and we wanted to learn and appreciate wine.We 6 young wine lovers met in Khar, Mumbai to taste.
It took us half an hour to set up everything. Thank you to Sawpnil for getting Tasting glasses and Mohan for the venue. We quickly did chilling of all 7 wines and started discussing about wine and how to do blind tasting and how to learn more.
Blind Wine number 1 -White wine, young, less oak, cooked fruits, warm climate, less acidity, more alcohol.Yes everyone was right = South Africa Chenin Blanc Fairview.
(Decent wine rated)Mr. Umang
Blind Wine number 2 -White wine, tropical fruits but less to catch, cool climate, difficult to catch flavours of to much light body.No one was able to get it right = Sauvignon Blanc Chile

Blind Wine number 3-This wine was from someone who works from a company called Tulleeho and good experience of wine and spirits. Light colour, clear, crisp, fruits aromas, moderate climate. It was not to difficult wine. It was Chardonnay from India.

Blind tasting number 4-This wine was from someone who works as Store Manager in wine studio Hops & corks Bandra.Wine was dry to off dry Balanced Tannins, Medium Acidity, Berries flavours, fresh wine.Shocking result - It was Reveilo Sangiovese. We all said Sangiovese or Pinot noir from cool climate but it was from India.

Wine Blind Number 6-Officially last wine of the day, Red Strong wine, Medium+ Tannins, Medium - Acidity. Any idea? we said its Cabernet Merlot, Austrilan Shiraz, etc.
It was Italian Sangiovese.

At the end we were drunk to the fullest and was cleaning home. I bucket full of split wines and empty glasses.
