Mysterious Tweet Sparks concerns about Edward Snowden

in #whistleblower8 years ago

A few days ago Edward Snowden posted an cryptic tweet, addressed to his former NSA colleagues, with the message “It’s time.”

Did you work with me? Have we talked since 2013? Please recontact me securely, or talk to @bartongellman. It's time. https://t.co/AKmgF5AIDJ — Edward Snowden (@Snowden) August 3, 2016

On friday he tweeted a cryptic message containing what seems to be a hex (decryption?) code. The tweet was deleted moments after the post.

This tweet, the deletion of it and the silence from Snowden sparks some serious concerns among the followers. Some tweeps have worries of the whistleblower been killed or captured resulting in activating the dead man's switch.

A dead man’s switch is a message set up to be automatically sent if the user does not perform a regular checkin. In his case this could be the key to the encrypted files he distributed among journalists and associates.

Some insiders say Edward Snowden is fine but most people want to see a prove of life from Snowden directly.
