Chivas Regal Blended Scotch 12 years
Sometimes you hear people arguing about Blends being real whiskies or not. We, in the Whisky Club, are very tolerant if it comes to alcohol so we wanted to share our impressions with you about this Blend from the Chivas' house.
Unboxing
Like the best whiskies on earth this one comes in a box, too. It is silver with ruby emblems on it. Looks like a box from the dark age with the armorial on it.
Ingredients
The Chivas Regal Blended Scotch 12 years is based upon a Strathisla Single Malt. The founding brothers of Chivas were the first to craft the world's finest blended Scotch Whiskies.
Taste
The Chivas Regal Blended Scotch 12 years has notes of honey, hazelnut and butterscotch which makes it very smooth to drink and makes it suitable for novices.
If you scent before drinking you will find some fruity, wryly and vanillin scents. Also a bit of taffy and leather.
It is a very mild whisky. After sipping the first draught you will recognise a very round taste from nectarine and a bit of nougat.
Optic
The color is reminiscent of liquid gold although it is a quite bright whisky. The whisky itself is very greasy in the nosing glass.
All in all it is a good drinking whisky which shouldn't be missing in your house bar if you like mild blended Scotchs.
The price is around $ 25 for a 0,7 l bottle.
