  1. Whenever you have a WhatsApp message, which you want to read without having a blue tick, then go back to the navigation mode from the Notification panel.

  2. After becoming offline, open up WhatsApp and read the chat.

  3. Turn off WhatsApp when the message is read. And close all the windows in WhatsApp. Not even in the background.

  4. After close all open windows of the background, turn off the airplane mode.

  1. Done, the message will also be read and the blue tick will not show.
