Becoming a Whale on Steemit. Let's look at Some Whales and See How They Got Big!

in #whale7 years ago (edited)

How long do you think it takes to get big on steemit? Six months? One year? Let's look at some whales I've listed below. This is only a small handful, but these guys are who we all inspired to be like on Steemit!

These guys have made life changing money here on steemit. How did they get so big? we all might ask.

Let's start with the time it takes a lot of whales to get big on steemit. Most of these guys have been on steemit for at least six months if not longer. The majority of them have a large following and have over a thousand post that they have made. To grow a large following like these whales have, you either have to have some really great content that catches the eyes of a large audience or in some cases you've brought over a following from somewhere else because you have great content there as well. In both cases these whales have contributed to their growth by providing great content.

Most of these whales above have also not only invested a lot of time and content on Steemit, but they have made large financial contributions into the platform as well, buying Steem and powering it up into Steempower! Essentially investing into the future of Steemit. In some cases, you see some of these large whales have no post at all, but they have a lot of Steempower. That means they've made a seriously large investment into Steemit and its future. Either way powering up for the long term is their objective.

Just like in nature you rarely see one whale all alone by itself. Whales typically comment and upvote each other's posts because it benefits them the most to "hang out" with other whales. Now, occasionally they will see a minnows post and upvote it as well, which really does help out the growth of steemit. This gives incentive to those minnows to stay on the platform and continue to invite others to join as well.

So what does it take to grow from a Minnow to a whale? To become a bigger fish on Steemit, one must follow the footsteps of those whales! By putting in time creating extremely good content and also making an investment into Steem and powering it up for the long term. If a minnow invites enough minnows and those minnows become bigger fish, that one minnow now has a lot of bigger fish friends, and over time will also become a bigger fish. This will take time but it is the process of becoming a whale on Steemit.

Keep posting great content and investing in Steemit, it will pay off.

Thank you for reading

Just saw your "all in on Steemit" video on YT and followed you here. I agree that there's a lot of upside potential on Steemit. I joined a year ago, then life got in the way. Now I'm back and getting into the community. Best of luck!

Great analysis mate! it is always good to learn from people with experience.
Thanks!

Your content is really helpful followed if you could follow back would be dope

Nice post! Slow and steady wins the race. If you create enough content and put the time in, people will follow. You can't expect to get rich quick.

This posts inspires me and gives me hope that I may one day join the ranks of whale status!

But for now, I will continue to admire from behind the glass...

I'm a whale now?! 0_0

Thanks for the honourable mentions!

Thank you so much!! You are my favorite whale I've met on here so far! Thank you for all the upvotes! Can't wait to get more power and send you alot of upvotes back!!

I can really see you being one of the whales on steemit in the future if you are not already one. It's for content like this that people come to steemit thank you for thinking about us minnows. And posting some content that week help us further develop in steemit and become bigger fish. Keep up the great work
