There were concerns from the public about this fact in one of the WebDollar presentation. Being an open source project I dont think it will have any problem in the future. We will see :)
There won't be any problem. Dollar (often represented by the dollar sign $) is the name of more than twenty currencies, including those of Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Liberia, Namibia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States.
