RE: Nerd By Northwest #108 – “The Herd is Always Late to the Game”
I never got into buying Bitcoin and it never seems to feel like the right moment. I am happy enough with my Steem and have some confidence it will go up again. At one point mine was worth almost $100k! A lot less now, but I can live with that.
Opposite for me... I got started with Bitcoin and didn't get into Steem and other crypto until later. As for the "right moment", I know a little about that. I actually started getting interested in Bitcoin for YEARS before putting any money and time in it. I always meant to get more involved earlier, but my family and especially my BS office job drained all my energy and attention to where it was difficult to devote time to get started.
If one IS interested and just unsure about the right moment, you gotta just set an afternoon aside and do a small step like setting up a Coinbase account or something and just put enough in to earn $10 in free Bitcoin. Don't obsess on current price (though now isn't a bad time all things considered). If you don't plan to put more money into it than you'd be willing to lose while gambling for the day at Las Vegas or Monaco, then it's easy to justify taking that small step.
I've dabbled with faucets and other freebies to get some crypto, but never had the spare cash to invest. I'm not the bothered about getting rich really, but it's interesting technology. I have bought a little Steem, but earned most of what I have.
