MILITARIZATION: THE SCARY PROBLEM
Our planet is becoming more and more militarized. This is a scary problem because it gives governments the power to create mass scale destruction. The President of The United States has the power to order military strikes anywhere in the world and to use whatever force he deems appropriate. That is a lot of power in the hands of one human being considering the military capabilities of the United States. Just think, there is a small group of people who possess the authority to take military actions that could potentially end the lives of 90% of all humans. I don't have enough confidence in any human, including myself, to justify giving him or her that much destructive power.
North Korea is constantly testing nuclear weapons and missiles to deliver them. The United States has war ships and submarines patrolling Chinese waters and all over the the world. We are selling hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons to countries like Saudi Arabia and others. America spends a huge amount of money on the military. I don't think it makes us safer. I think it makes us less safe. Military intervention was once a last resort, but now it appears to be the first option. In recent history military action has made problems much worse (Iraq, Syria, Libya).
My fear is that the state will have so much military power that the people become powerless. As we invest in the advancement of technology you see how vastly our capabilities increase. Look at the strides we have made in computing technology in the past 30 years. Apply that level of advancement to weapons. When will we get to the point where we create the weapon that will destroy the entire planet completely? It may already exist. No human should have the capability to destroy the planet.
I wish we would take all of the money that we are investing in weapons research and put it into protecting our environment. There is money is in green tech too. We can choose to invest in saving our planet or destroying it. We must remember that it is not all about us humans. We are merely a byproduct of the Earth. Let's check our egos and remember the Earth is more important than we are.

STOPHi @smartdickhead thank you for your article this is really true. I am not really afraid about the president of US or even other country but more about the one in the back, who are bankers, big industry and specially weapon industry. Those peoples don't add any good to the planet they just greedy one who make money on the death of millions of innocent peoples. Today less and less peoples in the world believe in their government, most are aware that government don't make any good for its citizens. One other thing i do believe is today with the growth of block-chain in the world it is a good way to take some power out of the hands of those crazy people who have corrupt the entire world for century. I am sure it is a good way to regain some control over those bad one. ^ and follow you THX
I agree with you @ricko66 . I dont know who is really pulling the strings but we the people need to be more assertive and the direction of our country and our world. Thanks for checking out my post
