Can we still IGNORE the water problem???
Need of the hour!?
2 days back I woke up to the news that India is facing it's worst water shortage in it's history and the place where I live in; Delhi, ground water is going to be finished by 2020 which is LESS THAN 2 YEARS!
Being true to myself, It is not something that I didn't know or for that matter most of the people don't know but very conveniently WE choose to ignore.
What needs to be done !!!
It is a million dollar question that what can we do to make this problem right. And as it often happens the answer to this very problem is right in front of us. I know that many of you people will say that the best solution to the problem is save water, don't spend water unnecessarily, store the rain water and so on. I agree that all the above mentioned solutions are good but there is one more solution of the problem which we generally don't talk about and that is
POPULATION
We are a country with the 1.35+ billion souls with the median age of 27 and share a whopping over 17.5 percent we are going Tobe number 1 in terms of population as soon as in 2025. All these stats are fascinating, we need to ask ourselves as a country... Do we really want this?
It is true that we need number to be strong in the world but at the same time we need to consider our available resources for the livelihood of the souls in the country or for that matter for the world. India; land of rivers is falling short in quenching the thirst of it's natives, food supply has taken a hit. Do you know that we are falling 4 month short in food supplies what earth is capable to produce, directly it means that we are getting into our reserves which is in no way a good sign.
Even movies and TV series such as Avengers:Infinity war and The Flash: season 4 have been made addressing the very same issues. So, it is really important to understand that we are the only ones who can stop this metaphor from happening which is going to consume our future generations and more importantly our own sons and daughters.
Let's take a pledge once & all that we will not get more than one children. Time has come to make a new pledge; instead of Hum Do Hamare Do, let's do strictly
HUM DO HAMARE EK
( Instead of we two ours two, let's do WE TWO OURS 1)
