Decorative Water Plants : Apu - apu (Pistia Stratiotes)

in #water7 years ago (edited)

Apu - apu (Pistia stratiotes) is a water plant commonly found floating in calm waters or ponds. It is also popular as an aquarium protective plant. This plant is the only member of the Pistia clan. People also know it as driftwood or kapu-kapu. Apu-apu is sometimes referred to as kiambang / kayambang, but this naming is misguided, because it refers to other water plants. The origin of these plants is unclear but has been known to spread throughout the tropics and subtropics. Apu - apu can be used to absorb metals in industrial waste item image
