The US military engaged in open fire with Russia for the first time in the Syrian war

in #war7 years ago (edited)

The Military of U.S. and Russia for the first time have begun an open battle in Syria, the fighting occurred on February 7 near the city of Deir al-Zor, Syria.
This suggests that Russia began to engage militarily further in Syria, and risk being involved in open combat with US forces stationed in Syria.

Russia has always denied the presence of private military contractors or mercenaries in Syria, arguing that Russia only places troops at airbases, naval bases, military instructors who train Syrian troops and a small number of special forces.

But we all certainly know that the Russian government uses a large number of mercenaries to help Russia strengthen its influence on the field without jeopardizing the lives of its soldiers.

Russian media reported that about 200 Russian private security company workers were killed in the fighting, while US Central Command said that US troops were threatened by a tank, and they responded by carrying out attacks from unmanned aircraft and B-52 bombers that killed about 300 up to 500 people. But the Russian government admits only five of its citizens died, and that it has nothing to do with Russian military forces.
