Soul Washing ceremony at Svay Romeat Buddhist Temple- Photo Gallery #6
Lately I have been through a lot of inconveniences.
My bank blocked a large amount of my money because of an attempt of purchase online. Then I had a moto accident. Then 2 guys tried to snatch my bag. Then I injured my toe...
In the hope to turn all these bad energies into something positive, I went to wash my soul and get a blessing from a young monk in a famous Buddhist Pagoda in Siem Reap. Not that I believe particularly in a specific religion, neither that I believe in spirits or that "bathing" my soul in blessed water could make the situation any better.
I thought giving it a try could have been a cultural experience of no harm.
That's the monk who blessed me and washed my soul from bad spirits.
Let's walk together. That's the entrance of Wat Svay Romeat Pagoda, famous temple in Cambodia for these types of ceremony.
Many poor kids get free education thanks to their status of Monk.

Weird statues around the temple
That's around the pagoda
Buddhist tombes
There is a huge painting you can find at the entrance of the pagoda.
I never saw so many horrifying images in a Buddhist Pagoda! I was quite surprised.
That's on the back of the Pagoda. Any Buddhist out there that can explain more?
IS THAT GOD?
The monk gave me a red lace for good luck. I put it beside my favourite Doraemon watch :D
Uplifting smile. That's where the ceremony had a start. I couldn't photograph where the Monk poured water on me because the phone would have been soaked too!
Selfie completely soaked in blessed water
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
Thank you for sharing those perfect pictures, it is not only what we see, but we FEEL what it is about.
What a culture, what a religion, what a dedication.
And Wow; now your blessed ,... and wet!
ALWAYS :D
And that is what I like ..😋
Wonderful images... that was a real walkwithme post...
thanks for sharing them and good luck @sandrina.life
Well fingers crossed this turns your luck around. :)
I hope this helps in boosting your daily luck, karma, providence, or whatever one might call it, and life gets a bit better. Sounds like it's been a trial. Very interesting seeing that whole world of which I am very un-familiar. And I agree, the images are a bit dour. I hope someone can lend a bit of light as to their meaning. I'm guessing massive persecution in the past? Depiction of the end of days? But that is only that, a guess.
You lead a very fascinating, interesting life. Thanks for sharing a corner of it with us.
And finally, THAT is one COOL watch. I have some oddly-cool wristlet timepieces, but that one takes the cake.
Sorry, I don't know why but I see comments on my posts very late.
I would post another walkwithme tomorrow, about other Buddhist ruins and a beautiful pagoda. I hope you like it.
I have a lot of crappy stupid glitter childish clothes, gadgets and wigs, my peter-pan side.
Ooh, my favorite 'walkwithme' yet!
Because of your posts I looked up some things about Buddhism and there is some interesting things...I'll leave it at that.
'I never saw so many horrifying images in a Buddhist Pagoda! I was quite surprised.'
Yeah, those monks: 'Still waters run deep'? 😎
my girlfriend (Buddhist) - say its different depictions of hell, depending on what you did wrong in life.
Different wrongs, = different punishments.
Like in the inferno of Divina Commedia!
