This is barbaric as well as female circumcision. I don't support such an act. This is one of the reasons i hate cultural beliefs. This act is the leading cause of masturbation among the women.

Oh noo, i beg to differ.. The pulling is not done in any fondling way that will arouse or excite someone..the pain is too much to bear, it wasnt playing around with the parts. Get that point clear. . Plus the labias are not the sensitive part of a woman, the clitoris is.. There is a reason this was done in public, and at such a young age, we dnt even have such polluted thoughts.
I am a nurse , by profession. We do vaginal examination all the time, which involve actual insertion if fingers or a tool, would u say that this causes masturbation too?
