RE: Vocab-ability–156 (nav, naut = ship) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)
MY VOCAB PRACTICE
- Navigate: The country boy struggled to navigate the concrete maze of roads and highways to make it to San Francisco.
- Circumnavigate: One lazy afternoon in the library, the kid, day dreaming, circumnavigated the globe in the reference section.
- Naval: The name "Maritime Academy" has a more stylish ring to it than "Naval Academy."
- Nautical: Having lived his entire life with saltwater spray wet on his clothes, the boatswain personified everything nautical in the imagination of his son.
- Astronaut: Humans weren't the first astronauts in our solar system, astroids and meteoroids came before us.
Good work!
And I love the story of the global circumnavigator!
