RE: FreeTalk: My Biggest Steem Failure and Where My Steem Future is Headed

in #vlog7 years ago (edited)

Hmmm @wanderlass totally hear you and your disappointment and frustration!

But I really don't agree with it.

I don't agree with your notion of 'failure'. You have learnt regardless and you have got to where you are perhaps with some assistance, but mainly through doing it yourself. I don't quite get why you think you need to be hand-held to 'progress' further. Do you think you do?

If you want a slider, try using Steempeak.com or Busy.org :D - sorry my friend, I'm not accepting the situation you describe. This is mainly because I think you are describing yourself through comparison to others, and this is getting you down. This is also fake - you are you, and not someone else!

The way I see it is this. Fiat will plunge at some stage when the global financial crisis becomes apparent to enough people that the illusions are shattered and the system takes a dive. When that happens, crypto will go through the roof. Therefore, it doesn't matter if your stash is only 300 and all around you see folk with millions - doesn't matter coz you may only need 10 for all your needs. See what I'm saying? If 300 is 30 times more than what you need (and of course this will grow as well) - what then does the comparison even mean?

I am actually considering 'retiring' - was even thinking of writing a post about it :D ...... I've just bought some Steem and am up to 330. I consider this to be sufficient - I will buy more if I can and will continue to increase my hodling via organic account growth. I too will get to a steemit slider stage :). But it doesn't matter, I'm safe where I am. I can retire now from trying to sell my output in any way - I can retire from trying to write for networking/profit/blah blah....I can retire from doing anything that I don't feel like. Which then means that I can free myself up to write and express myself, without worrying about other things (they will follow anyway, and any 'whale' votes I have had have only ever come on posts where I have let myself go and freely express).

It's not bad @wanderlass, not even fucking close. Drop the negative outlook my friend, just drop it. It is further unnecessary stress that you are taking on. You will help yourself and your account by letting go of the notion of failure. This is a lie that you are telling yourself - it is likely to be based on other factors than what you are stating. The scarcity mindset belongs to the old world of fear, it belongs to the city of the dead and dying - you are a wanderer, you travel, why confine yourself to a small dark place?

[Edit] just watched this 2 min video by @meno called Comparison is the Killer of Joy - very relevant I think :D
