I have 300 records

I pick through them at night

before going to sleep

what do i want to hear as I pass out

when i was young

the summertime breeze would carry the notes

from the rock bands through my window

playing from the local swimming pool dance

late at night

I find a record after 20 minutes of looking

yes, this is the one

I open my window

put the needle on

within the first five notes

i am asleep

a child again

I never grew up
