Buying Crypto is like launching a Nuclear missile from NORAD

I am new to crypto and tonight I bought my first ICO (Axpire). Graciously my brother got on the phone and walked me through trading my LTC from Coinbase to ETH.

I then had to download a metamask, whatever the hell that is. I then had to transfer the ETH through the metamask to the ICO. I didn't have enough "gas" so I had to add more ETH. Apparently there is a site "gestation. https://ethgasstation.info/ to reduce transaction fee's.

I finally bought the ICO and am excited for the launch.
