How I made 13 years of salary in about 25 minutes.

I live in a country where the average person earns about $3 a month, an engineer may be up to $6 a month, yet an egg carton worths about $0.60, 500gr of Spaghetti are worth about $1.75, a Kg of meat is about $3.07 and a Kg of Ham is about $4.69, so you can see things are pretty messed up in here.

Cryptocurrencies to the rescue.

More and more Venezuelans, including me, are turning into cryptocurrencies trying to scape the severe crisis the country is sunk in.

Some people have been mining Bitcoin but it's not a suitable task for everyone, the high costs of setting up mining rigs make us, the average guys, to stay away from it. Miners also risk their lives due to extortion and police persecution, there is a great article in hackernoon about this situation: Extortion, Police Raids and Secrecy: Inside The Venezuelan Bitcoin Mining World.

There are people even mining gold on Runescape claiming to make up to $3 a day which translates into a month of basic income.

Projects like Steemit can bring a lot of wealth to us Venezuelans but in the case of Steemit, it's also not a suitable task for everyone. Not everyone can express themselves in English, and even if they can, writing is not an easy task for everybody, at least it's not for me. Of course, this is something you can work on and improve over time, but here in Venezuela, we are always in a rush for cash, thinking about what we need to fill the next plate of food.

But there is an alternative, a relatively fast one: Airdrops.

With Airdrops, new blockchain projects distribute their coins for free.

On January 02 I was checking CoinMarketCap and Raiblocks jumped to my sight, I'd never heard of it yet it was valued at $34 I think. I then went to Google it and I found that it had been airdropped months ago, I just couldn't believe some people may have had them for free so I started chasing Airdrops.

In early January I claimed 15Qbic coins from their airdrop, which I made in about 25 minutes while the wallet synchronized over my slow internet connection. This coin touched $32 (although I didn't sell them at that time), it turns out to be pretty serious money for me, we are talking about $480 or the way I like to see it: 13 years of basic income

Lifesaving opportunities.

Although the above picture might make it seem funny, it really isn't. This kind of opportunities that cryptocurrencies are giving us might become lifesavers in a country where people simply die because they can't afford to buy medicines. You see, ill people have only 2 choices, either they eat (very poorly) or they buy their medicines (which sometimes they can't even buy by stopping eating).

So if you know any Venezuelan please tell them about cryptos, tell them about airdrops, you might be helping them a LOT, maybe even introduce them to this post or the one I made in Spanish:

https://steemit.com/venezuela/@ar2ro/como-los-airdrops-se-pueden-convertir-en-salvavidas-literalmente-para-los-venezolanos

I also made a website in Spanish listing some airdrops and giving instructions on how to set up everything and start participating in them:
