Let's Watch! BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: S02E06 "Home: Part 1"

This episode sort of pumped up much of season two and seemed to start interesting conflicts that I can't wait to see once the fleet is put back together (which it will be).

On Galactica:
I don't like the decision Adama made about the new CAG and it's strange how he went about it. But it's understandable. It really showed me as a viewer how much the galactica struggles when Apollo isn't the CAG. Adama really faces some interesting moments when he tries to speak to the press (and jokes about how easy Roslin made it look :P). The fleet is starting to pick up on Adama's we'll-find-earth-lie. Now it's only a matter of time and I thin this news will make it out quicker than expected. The stuff with Giaus was really interesting as well. He is starting to become more and more paranoid and Six quickly tells him he doesn't share the same fate as the rest of humanity. Can the cylons tell the future? Or do they refer to prophesies? Or maybe she was mentioning her plan and what the cylons intend to do with him (make him the father of the new race)? I'm interested but I'm sure this won't be touched upon until the final season. The conversation with Dee and Adama was also really intriguing. I didn't know they were so "close". Or at least close enough to Dee to strike at the captain like that (emotionally). That was probably my favorite scene. The ending, with Adama wanting to reunite the fleet, was very happy and a good ending Especially Dee's face in the last shot.

On Kobol:
I like how they are using Boomer in this storyline even though I didn't expect a cliche "I'm not on the evil side" routine. Maybe she is just using them? Although that wouldn't make sense at this point. Vaerii takes the plunge the episode and I'm not really sad to see her go. As you probably know, I'm not really a fan of mystics in shows like this, but I do like the way it's being used. I think this group will be extremely disappointed when they don't find Earth and I really hope that's what happens.

On Astral Queen:
Remember that time Apollo kissed Starbuck? I do. It was awesome. I love them together. Now, I'm not really sure what Zarek wants to do. I know he wants to lead his men to freedom like he planned in season one, but now it's odd that he needs Roslin. Is he going to try and control her? What's up? Why does he think Apollo should be the one to pay the price of death?
