Video Game Trends in Asia

in #video4 years ago (edited)

Video game consoles have gained popularity in Asia recently. The main reason is that Asia has always remained a hub for new technological advances. This is further fueled by the fact that Asia is an open market where prices are lower than anywhere else in the world. In short, Asia has become the new video game trend in Asia.

Asian markets offer a wide variety of new release games

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced some pretty interesting new titles for PSP. Nexon has a new MMORPG title called Aion. This is the first MMORPG to be developed in Asia and it is slated to be one of the best selling games of all time. This is just one example of how technology is opening up Asian markets and allowing local producers to compete with multinational companies.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has also announced that they will be releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops on PlayStation Portable. No specifics have been given but it looks like this game will utilize the Dual Shock system from Sony. If you remember, the PS3 had the groundbreaking motion-detecting camera. While there's no word on whether or not this new technology will replace the camera in future games, it's safe to assume it will be utilized in some way.

Microsoft has also released new versions of Xbox and X-Box

The new releases will be coming out soon enough so better start checking out those game magazines now. Remember when watching the gaming news on television that there were often unannounced games showing up that week? That's one of the reasons why we get excited about video game consoles. We know there are going to be new games every week.

Microsoft's next new Xbox will be coming out later this year. The general consensus seems to be that the console will be more interactive. Will it support 3D graphics? Will it allow the use of an external keyboard and mouse to play the game? There is a lot of guesswork involved with these new releases but one thing is for sure; it's fun to speculate.

Meanwhile, Nintendo has recently released the latest version of the Wii console. The new version of the Wii allows gamers to play classic video games on the go. Yes, you can now take your old Wii and play all your old favorites such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and more. Video game enthusiasts in Asia have been waiting for this new release since the day it was announced so rest assured, this game is here to stay.

There's no telling when Microsoft or Nintendo will release their next video game console so if you're looking to pre-order one, now might be the time to do so. There are plenty of retailers that are offering discounted prices on Nintendo Wii's. Keep your eyes open for these sales and make sure to check out our comprehensive report on the new video game console.

With the rise of the Wii, gaming is now a multi-million dollar industry. As technology advances, there are more new game releases being added to the video game industry each year. In Asia, however, this isn't the case as local players only play locally produced games.

The Asian market has also been slow to catch on with video game consoles

This is in contrast to North American and European markets which have welcomed the newest consoles like the Xbox and Sony PlayStation with open arms. Nintendo, however, has lagged behind in terms of introducing new game releases. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a follow up to the wildly popular The Legend of Zelda video game, was only available in Japan prior to it being released in other regions, which is a real shame.

The good news is, though, that more video game console manufacturers are starting to make their way to Asia and the Nintendo Wii is leading the way. Sony and Microsoft are both said to be working on localized versions of their game consoles so the battle between these two companies is expected to rage on. Given the fact that the Japanese market is already saturated with game consoles, the Nintendo Wii looks to be on its way to success in Asia.
