Today in Music (September 16th)

in #video7 years ago

What interesting new songs or albums were released or were topping the charts on September the 16th in the history of music? What has happened on this day in the music universe? I apologize in advance that my view is quite narrow since I only know and follow western music.

In 1985 Dire Straits had No. 1 Chart Toppers Pop Hit with “Money for Nothing”.

Authors of the song are Mark Knopfler and Sting who also sung the backup refrain “I Want My MTV”.

In 1977 The Talking Heads released their debut album “Talking Heads: 77”.

Here they are with 1984 live version of “Psycho Killer”.

In 1925 Riley.B. King was born in Indianola, MS.

You all know him as B. B. (Blues Boy) King. The grand master of blues is asking you “How Blue Can You Get”:

Please remember that these artists and songs are my personal choices and are not always what you would consider a great hit. OK, most of the time they are.
