Harmony VS. Harm / Modular Synth Composition / #Songaday
I'm back just in time for the song a day challenge.
Today's composition is inspired by the juxtaposition of harmony vs. harm
harmony (n.)
late 14c., "combination of tones pleasing to the ear," from Old French harmonie, armonie "harmony"
harm (n.)
Old English hearm "hurt, pain; evil, grief; insult,"
The melody in the begining is chill and relaxing, it reminds me of evenings at the beach right before sun down....
I introduce dissonance and some harsh frequency modulated metalic textures to clash with the melody arond the 3 minute mark... you'll start to hear the auditory battle insue as the melody and metalic tones fight for dominance. Once these two opposing energy systems grow tired, they settle into the art of balance and learn to have a new found respect for eachother.
