Chilpancingo, land of warriors.

The small city of Chilpanchingo is like a little town in the middle of the mountains of the southeast of México.
Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, also by rivers and big moutnains. But, don´t let the small population of this place cheated you, this city is very important, in fact is the capital of the Guerrero State, one of the poorest and underdeveloped states of México. Here is where the goberment has his center of operations in this state, many social problems happend here.

Mangos! In Chilpancingo´s market

I live in Acapulco Guerrero, the closer city and port from Chilpancingo. Arround one and a half hour to go to place from place. I love to go to this place to visit my family and do some of my bysnes. I like because its market. Its so natural, and everything is so fresh and cool, with the most beautiful colors and flavors. The people is super nice and you canot imagine all the delicious things you can taste here. Just like the "Atole de Garbanzo", that is a drink of chickpea. is awesome. This is possible because indian people come down from diferent comunitys in the Sierra Madre of Guerrero to sell and change their products in this city of Chilpancingo.

You also can learn a lot of Mexico history and about the indian culture in the Regional Museum of Guerrero. Where you can find archaeological vestiges about the ancian way of living of people in this comunities. It is in this Museum where is saved and is showed a very important document for the mexican independience that is called Feelings of the Nation, wich It is considered one of the most important Mexican political texts in its history.

I call this place Land of Warriors because people here is like very native, maybe because is the center of the state, the goberment has its offices here, because is the capital and all the people who travel from the nort of the country or from Mexico city to Acapulco beach has to through for Chilpancingo, so, when people doesn´t like something that the goverment do, Chilpancingo is the right place to make marches, protests and roadblocks. I mean if you live in the Guerrero State and want to fight with the goverment Chilpancingo is the place and it used to be a really big caos, but in normal days it is a a calm and peaceful small city. This is the place where everything is possible. The people even fired one governor and all his team, when 33 students of one of the most important rural university were missing in very strange circumstances. They get into the governor's office and burn everything, even his photo, his cars, and all the government building, so you can imagine how brave is this people when they get angry.

One of my best friends always says "you can spend all your life traveling just in the south of México", or in an small place of the world and you´ll never finish. Mexico is such a beautiful place and most of their people in the south is very warm, they make you feel like in home wherever you go. Don´t miss the oportunity to travel arround Mexico, is a very cheap and really magic place where you´ll learn a lot. :D
