Surprisingly, Venture Capital and Real Estate are very similar industries. Lets take a look at their similarities.

Similarities
1.Both are private market, deal based
2.Venture capitalists and real estate developers both search for good deals before they are well known to others.
3.Venture capitalists and real estate developers both add as much value as possible to increase the sales price of the deal
(1)Venture capitalist hire talents, introduce key clients and etc.
(2)Real estate developers renovate, remodel and etc.
4.Venture capitalists and real estate developers must be well connected and good at marketing to sell their deals at highest price possible.

Of course, the differences between these 2 industries are obvious.

Differences
1.The deals for venture capitalists are people run projects, and deals for real estate developers are just buildings.
2.The returns for venture capitalists are extremely hard to predict give the uncertainty nature of start-ups. However, the returns for real estate projects are predictable, and could be well planed to increase the probability of success.
