Venezuela: a country with an existential crisis.
We, venezuelans, often look back at how cheap some things were a few years ago and we almost dont believe it. Living in a country with hyperinflation makes you analize deeply on the real value that things have.
The price of any product increases every week. Some people I know have not done their laundry in months. At my home we run out of toilet paper for a few weeks.
Most people in our country are very clueless about economics but many learned the hard way due to the crisis. Its even surprising to see poor people on how raising the minimum wage or printing more money creates more inflation.
All of this affects the mental state of people and we know now that we appreciate all the things we had in the past before this government showed its true colors.
If you live in a country with some stable economy and some transparent institutions or having food at your home everyday: dont take those things for granted. Feel gratitude even if you live in a third world country with some social stability.
You will know the value of those things only when they are lost.

i definately would agree with you in such a situation it impacts the state of mind people interact with the things around them ·Thank you for writing down these thoughts when it is difficult for you and those whom you regard dearly
Sometimes i do forget of the situation of my fellow beings around the world who are having it much worst than i am... ugh... do not even have enough for myself...
That's right. It's important to see things with the right perspective.
