Before e-cigs were a thing, I actually used them to quit smoking. I had what was called a "drip tip" e-cig that had a USB cable attached to it. In my back pocket I would carry around a battery called The My Powerall 3450 (I think that was its name) and I would plug my drip tip e-cig into it. It was so old school and I looked like an idiot, but it eventually helped me quit smoking all together.
I had to order the nicotine liquid from a company in Hawaii, because at the time, that was the only place you could actually order from. I started with what would have been the equivalent of %100 nicotine found in a Marlboro Light. I smoked that thing like crazy, my cough went away, my chest felt better, it just felt "healthier". After about a month I dropped the nicotine down to %75 of a Marlboro Light, about a month later, I went to %50, then another month, down to %25, then eventually I was "vaping" water vaper with 0% nicotine content. After a while I just put it down and I never wanted to pick up another cig or e-cig again. I used it as a tool to quit smoking and not as a substitute for smoking.
It was the best thing I could have ever done for my health. I started the process when my wife was pregnant because I never wanted to be the "dad that smokes". It helped me quit before my son was born, and I'm much healthier and happier that I quit. Hardest thing I'd ever done, but you have to want to quit. Jut replacing cigs with an e-cig is silly IMO. Use it as a tool to help you quit, it works...at least it worked for me.
thank you for sharing, i am so glad that you quite man, in my personal use i do use it as a subsittute cause i really dont want to quite i just want to cut down the harmful chemicals
