What do you like about smoking?

There are so many different flavours and kits that in order to start narrowing it down, you should consider what you like about smoking. Different liquids provide a variety of flavours and strengths, whereas devices influence the amount of smoke that each inhalation creates. If you’re hoping to smoke inconspicuously then you might want one that creates little smoke, compared to other models that are perfect for practicing smoke tricks to impress your buddies. Deciding what you want out of vaping is the first step.

Pick your vape kit

Once you’ve decided on the experience you’re after, now you need to pick your vape kit. If you still want a strong hit of nicotine, then it’s worth going for a model with a heating element. You’ll get less smoke, but they’re also smaller units so they’re far more discreet and fit in your pocket far easier. If you want plenty of smoke, then you’ll need a more powerful vape but of course this requires more power so the models are often far bigger to account for the larger batteries. There’s plenty of equipment out there, so spend time researching to pick the right one for you.

For a starter kit at a good price we recommend the Innokin Endura T20-S or the Eleaf Istick Pico 25.

Choose your e-liquid

There’s so many different types of E-Juice that it can be incredibly difficult to choose the right one for you. The first thing to decide is whether you want a strong hit of nicotine from it. If you’re vaping as a method of quitting smoking, then it’s worth considering an e-liquid with a good amount of nicotine in. If you’re less interested in the nicotine and more focussed on a great flavour then all you need to do is think about what your flavours are and get hunting!

Stock up on parts

If your device allows for the replacement of the Batteries then you’ll definitely want to buy extra batteries so that you can change them on the go. If you have a device with a built-in battery that can’t be changed, then it might be an idea to carry around a spare device so you can keep vaping if one device runs out. It would be advised to have the vapor fully charged for a full day of use. Coils also wear quite quickly over time, so it’s handy to have some spares of these too. Usually a coil would last 2 weeks so having a pack of 5 will last you sometime. It’s essential that you find coils that are compatible with your device to avoid any complications in the future.

Read the instructions!

It’s important to remember the e-cigarettes aren’t toys, so you should always read the instructions so you’re clear on how to use it appropriately. You don't want to use your e-cig too quickly before the coil is fully submerge in e-liquid, so make sure you leave it at least 5 minutes once filling. It’s also a great idea to carry around spare coils and batteries so that you can replace them if the taste of your vape ever turns slightly bitter. That’s a sign you need to switch it over and is often around the one week mark, depending on usage.

E-cigarettes have really grown in popularity and it can sometimes seem difficult to know quite where to start. However, once you take the leap and work out what you really want from vaping, you’ll turn from a beginner to expert in no time at all!
