What's the point of a well baby visit?
One time i went to a "well baby visit" as that is what is suggested for parents to do.
At 4 months i took my oldest and we saw the nurses.
The nurse asked what shots we were getting today, to which i replied none. We will not be vaccinating.
She asked if i meant no vaccines as in delayed, or as in we were unsure.
I said none at all.
We will not being doing vaccines at all.
She then asked,
Ok. So why are you here?
What would you like to do today?
As a new mom i had no idea why I was there. This is what i kept getting phone calls and letters for. Yet no one bothered to tell me what actually happens at these things.
All i know is it became perfectly clear that the only reason these "wellness checks" are set up is so that you can poison your kid on schedule.
We havent been back to check since.
That doesn't surprise me really. We were harassed by public health nurses until we agreed to let someone come visit in the first few weeks. Thankfully, the nurse we got was pretty crunchy, although the topic of vaccines never came up. Did they do any other check ups for you like weight, tongue/lip ties, etc...? -Aimee
