That is your first sentence, and as short as it is, it is confusing. Where you used the article ‘’The’’ to refer debate, it would have been clearer if you had used ‘’A’’. That seems like a short definition of debate from you, and ‘’A’’ should be the right article. I would advise you to check for minor issues in your texts before clicking on the publish button.
