Node.js Translation to Spanish - 1108 words (Part 23)

in #utopian-io6 years ago

The last two post have information about the importance of an Open Source contribution to a particular project, but I've never written about the difficulty that each contribution implies. Being part of the collaboration group is a very important role and implies a great responsibility, because another person's work is up to you and the changes you can make to this person's project.

It is very hard contributing in Open Source Projects, not because it complexity, but because of the meaning of every change or proposal you think and apply to a project, even knowing that can be a future problem if it is not the solution the author is looking for, or even more, can take the project into a malfunctioning. But don't be afraid, satisfaction is also a possible result in your contribution.

Project Details

Node.js is an Open Source project multiplatform run-time envirorment. It is based on ECMAScript language, is asynchronus and based on the V8 Google engine. It was created to unify web application development in one single programming language.

I'm an engineering student at Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela and I like programming, it is an entire world of innovation and logic where new cases are learned every day in each programm created. Node.js is a new way of viewing it, because it allows the relation between different languages in one single code in order to create multifunctional programs, that's why I started translating this beautiful project.

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview

This is a new translation of Node.js version 9 Changelog file, where the reader can find some interesting improvements through all the Node.js versions, in this specific case, we can find the modifications made for the version 9. This new part has some statements focused in giving the deserved credit to the collabrators that weren't added to the list, because every person that helps, deserves being mentioned so all Node.js users can know every collaborator.

In the next image, you can find some examples of thestatements of this new translation.

  • Languages

The original language of this changelog is English and it was translated into Spanish, which is my native language. In my last post I had many errors that made me learn much more about english grammar. I want to say thak you to Spanish moderators, because their work has been incredible an very useful to me. My experience translating has grown a lot and it is up to the reviews.

Some examples of my translation are the following:

-- First Example

English

[<0>1bff0aaae5</0>] - <1>doc</1>: add Yihong Wang to collaborators (Yihong Wang) <2>#18824</2>

Spanish

[<0>1bff0aaae5</0>] - <1>doc</1>: agregar a Yihong Wang a colaboradores (Yihong Wang) <2>#18824</2>

-- Second Example

English

[<0>20ad397f93</0>] - <1>doc</1>: note that linting is required in releases.md (Gibson Fahnestock) <2>#18776</2>

Spanish

[<0>20ad397f93</0>] - <1>doc</1>: notar que linting es necesario en releases.md (Gibson Fahnestock) <2>#18776</2>

I must clarify that the translated text doesn't include the code, but it is part of the sentence; that's why I put it every time I show an example.

  • Word Count

This Translation consist of 1108 words distributed between two days.

Learned Concept

In this oportunity I didn't learn a new concept, but I learned about the merit that a project owner must give to a collaborator. It is no a concept, but is an important thing to consider from now on.

Thank you for your contribution!

  • Your presentation post contains all the basic information related to the project. However, once again I want to remind you the importance of a well written post: this is a report that shows your work and skills as a translator, therefore you must be very careful with the wording so it can sound more natural and fluid in English.
