Cristiano Ronaldo Open The Sound Of Retirement From Portugal
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo admits he has not thought about his future with the national team after being eliminated in the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup.
Portugal failed to advance to the quarter-finals due to a 1-2 defeat of Uruguay at the Olympic Stadium Fisht, Saturday (30/06/2018) or Sunday morning GMT. Pepe's goal was not enough to hold Uruguay's scoring two goals through Edinson Cavani.
This failure makes Ronaldo's ambition to complete the collection of titles with the World Cup trophy to vanity. As is known, the World Cup became the only trophy that has not achieved Ronaldo throughout his football career.
As with rivals Lionel Messi, who had spent hours earlier to lift a suitcase from the 2018 World Cup, Ronaldo is rumored to be retiring after the defeat.
The issue is reinforced because the age of this Real Madrid striker who is no longer young that is 33 years. That is, if still intend to win the trophy, then Ronaldo will be 37 years old at the World Cup in Qatar 2022 later.
When asked about his future in Portugal, Ronaldo is still reluctant to give certainty.
"We played well, maybe even better than Uruguay, I think, but they scored two goals as captain I am proud of my team," Ronaldo said as quoted by BolaSport.com from FourFourTwo.
**"This is not the time to talk about my future," **Ronaldo added
Ronaldo stated that he believes in the players' ability at this time, the Portuguese national team can achieve the achievements in the future.
"I'm sure the team will continue to be one of the best in the world with great players, team spirit and a desire to win," Ronaldo said.
Just like in the national team, the fate of Ronaldo at Real Madrid is also still gray. Until now there has been no rumor about a new deal between Ronaldo and the Spanish giants.
