Esteem V1. 6.0: BTC values between post less than 7 days and post above 7days differs

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

Project Information

Expected behavior

I expect that when I change the currency to my preferred currency from setting, all monetary values of my posts both old and new should reflect in the currency i changed to.

Actual behavior

When I change currency from USD to BTC, post that are less than 7 days shows both the BTC symbol and the true value of the post in BTC, but posts that are older than 7 days show BTC symbol but with USD value . Thus making the value confusing.

How to reproduce

  • after logging in to esteem version 1.6.0 with the required credentials

  • click on the Menu key - the icon that has your profile picture at the top left hand side, just behind trending

  • then click on settings. Settings is between the Marketplace and FAQ.

  • then scroll down to currency , then click on the drop down box in from of currency and scroll up to select BTC.

  • now click on the Menu key - the icon that has your profile picture at the top left hand side, just behind settings, and from the drop down, select profile.

  • then go through your post monetary values both the ones that not up-to 7 days and the ones that are more than 7 days. You will notice the bug.

  • Browser/App version: esteem version 1.6.0

  • Operating system: Android version 8.1.0 Oreo. Techno Camon X

Thank you for contributing to Utopian!

I was able to reproduce the bug on my device.

This is a cool find, but I hope you understand this is a very minor bug and I scored accordingly. Also, your grammar can be improved a bit. Try and always capitalize I when it is on it own, instead of starting like this "after logging in to esteem version 1.6.0 with the required credentials" You could've wrote "Login to esteem". It says the same thing, it's short, it's elegant... and it doesn't start with "after". After what? It's obvious you didn't write this as a step by step guide, but rather as a paragraph and then separated to different lines. We expect better writing.
