The Steemplus Extension (What the extension offers you) - Episode 1.

Introduction
Making a post on the Steemit platform has really been made easier for the users of the Steem platform. Also, the users who made their contributions on Utopian had great difficulty in doing this when the Utopian platform was down some time back. For the time being, the platform hasn’t yet been fully back thus making contributions on Utopian difficult.
Hence, the extensions which at the moment makes it possible for one to make a post on the busy platform or other block chains and it comes up on the Steem platform was created by a number of wonderful talents with @stoodkev at the forefront.

Browser Extensions
A browser extension is basically explained to be a plug-in or a tool which improves or boosts the interface or operation of either a web browser, a webpage or even the website itself. Like the name sounds, the extension gives an enhancement of the above listed. That is what the Steemplus extension do for the Steemit/ busy platform.

Now, it is not as though the steemplus extension is the only one at the moment but it is the first on our platform but a new one known as the Utopian Rocks is out too. These extensions have made it easier for posting but I have just steemplus to explain as it has been at my forefront of use. Also, the features are so great and I have quite an experience with it.

Steemplus Features
As defined by @stoodkev, the Steemplus is a light weight browser extension which adds new features to the experience one has on the Steemit/ busy platform. It comes with a lot of packages and has the ability to give one a better grasp of the platform as it aims to achieve its goal.

The extension presents itself to serve as a linkage to the Utopian, Steemit and Busy platform. It also aims at completing these platform by providing significant and suitable functionalities. Hence, the features of the platform are listed below:

A. Voting % Slider

This feature is a very great feature that a lot of people are interested in. This is so because without an upvote, how then is a post rated and for every post, there should exist an upvote. Hence, users on the Steem platform can make use of the extension from any of these linked platforms and make their upvotes.

Also, it is again very important with its % slider because there exists posts you may feel don’t worth your complete voting power. Hence, the extension makes it possible for you to choose the percentage of vote you wish to give out to the post in question. With this slider, you manage your votes from any of the linked platforms and cast them without getting to the Steem platform itself.

B. Information on Votes

This is also a very great feature presented by this extension for the benefit of the contributors. Now, from any of the platforms, you can look at the various upvotes on a post. Also, you can see the names of those who had made them, see the amount they upvoted and as well see the worth of those upvotes.

Hence, it can be said that the extension gives a very comprehensive and important information concerning any post made by a person. Now, it is not only restricted the post you had made but as well the upvotes which follow it. You are allowed to also check the above listed information regarding those who made upvotes on the comments too.

C. Rewards Tab

The extension comes with a reward tab too displaying the various rewards you have gotten on a post. Just as the rewards are on the Steem platform but it gives you a complete breakdown of the rewards you have gotten.

It also presents in the tab, the total number of rewards you are to get after the due dates are elapsed and the post which has a particular reward. Now, the rewards are also broken down into the reward for the Steem power and Steem dollars.

This is a very important and favourite location for me as I frequent here regularly. This is the point where I need to figure out the various rewards I had received and the post which delivered which reward.

D. Feed display.

Going through your feed can most times can be one of the things keeping you in the mood to make a contribution. The feature being made available on the extension is a very great idea and this gives the extension a very good edge.

Without having to access the Steem platform, you can as well scroll through your feed. Now, if you don’t wish to go into the post to see the entire write-up, you scroll past. If you wish to see the upvote made on it and the number of people who made the upvote, it’s left for you.

Without opening the post, the extension has made it possible for you to view the post various contributors made and as well see the amount of upvote given. It also allows one to see the number of upvotes that was given on the post. The name of the contributor who made the post is also among the information you can see using the extension.

Just as it is on the Steem platform, with the extension you can filter the kind of feed you wish to view. Within the various filters you can select, you have the capability of choosing only resteems or select the tag of your choice. The feed also can be selected in such a way that it comes with the author who has a higher reputation at the top before the lesser ones.

E. Information on Users

Nearly everyone would agree that this part is their best. You having the capability to see the information on your neighbor. When you know information on someone, you would know how to emulate, copy or struggle to get to that height

The extension provides you with the ability to see the information on any user you wish to check on. You have the ability to see the percentage of the user’s voting power at that moment. It also displays the value of the upvotes the user can give and, the user’s full in. The user’s full in is explained as how duration of time remaining before the person’s voting power would fill up to 100%.

Well, this is done in a way that if you wish to view such information, all you do is to first open the user’s profile. Having done that, you just navigate with your mouse to the person’s name and hover over the (i) icon in blue right beside the name.

Conclusion
Every extension if it does not make it easier for one to access a web page or browser isn’t right to be called an extension. The Steem plus extension though there still exist some flaws in its build still remain the best now.
The above listed features are just the beginning of the list because the features are still much more to mention. Hence, in the next chapter of this series, I would elaborate more on those remaining features. It is a very wonderful idea to create the extension though as I said earlier, it has some flaws.

For some reason, the steemplus extension comes plainly without a submission template for translations but on the Steem platform, there exist also, other nationalities who do not speak or even read English. Do they have to use the translator when making a post? I don’t think that is a good idea.

If this was implemented in the submission template, it would be a very good edge for the wonderful extension. At the moment, this is the first in this series and I hope the developers would get this contribution and key in this into the update I am looking forward to.
