Understanding DTube in an easier way.

DTube is the first crypto-decentralized video platform, built with STEEM Blockchain and the IPFS peer-to-peer network. It is one of the extended platforms of SteemIt. It is very exciting to know the fact that there is an existing pathway to earn and fill our pockets with digital currencies. Unlike SteemIt, DTube is a hub where one can upload video posts and boost their wallet.

• Like Youtube, DTube favours in watching and uploading videos by its users. The users can also share and comment on the videos simultaneously earning cryptocurrencies by doing it.

How to use DTube?

When the login screen appears. It will ask for your SteemIt username and the private posting key. You will find your private posting key in your wallet under the permission option. Once you are logged in into DTube, you may easily upload your videos.

Process of uploading the videos

1.You have to click on the ‘upload’ button that is on the right corner of the screen.

2.Now you have to tap on the red box so that you are directed to a search window or otherwise, you may just drag and drop the video into the red box. Once the upload is complete, the video will undergo a series of checking. We have to wait until all the coloured bars turn to green.

3.Then begin with uploading an impressive snap for the thumbnail (you can instantly click a snap from the running video that you’ve uploaded).

4.You have to fill in the details and tag your video mandatorily.

5.Click ‘submit’ to submit the video. Your video will be uploaded and processed to view.

More about DTube

• DTube uses our browsers local storage to store information. It mainly stores data of our user accounts and posting keys. This is done to ensure there are no relogs again.

• It also stores the data of the watched videos and provides a display with option ‘watch again’ facilitating us the ease to watch the video again if interested. It behaves just like YouTube. The point to be noted is if we clear the browser, we have to relog and also the history of watched videos will be cleared.

How DTube Works?

DTube works using the STEEM blockchain as a database. DTube is destined to be decentralized and we cannot have a ready server processing the database. Ultimately using the concept of blockchain is the expected solution. The greater advantage of STEEM over other blockchains is that it is free and to use without any prior deposits of currency. Yet another advantage is that the transactions catch up no number of a penny. A video uploaded on SteemIt will earn its rewards for the initial seven days and the uploaded video becomes a part of the STEEM content. The video put up on DTube will be posted to your SteemIt account by default.
