I think 100 SP is a good compromise for your SP level, for the moment but I wouldn't doubt to do it so as soon as , either, you manage to reach 750SP or Steem price increase to 1.5 USD or so...

    Decided to bite the bullet and will increase it to 250SP.

      Exactly! And you can always undelegate it...with HF20 it would take 5 days to get it back effectively
