Ah...yes, the problem the software world have and will ever continue to have...
You reminded me of how I hated using something because it is nearly unusable due to all the jingles and whistles and blinking LEDs plus maybe some random chemical reaction that might look cool all happening somewhere you can see (or feel) when you are just trying to get something extremely easy done. Sometimes it's not just about customization, but people in general just sometimes feel like including everything they can into their stuff, which results in nothing for the viewer or user. A lesson I think is obvious enough but no one seems to learn...
But hey, you can customize Facebook if you want to, with an extension...same goes to Steemit or something. If there's a way, someone will do it, even if it's only on the client side :)
