Earth Rangers Learn Arts and Crafts for Environmental Advocacy
Earth Rangers Learn Arts and Crafts for Environmental Advocacy
Today Friday 17th August 2018, Earth Rangers of the Steemit Action Summer Holiday Program (SASH-Program) have learned about the how they can use Arts and Crafts as a strong advocacy to raise awareness and inspire action to protect the environment.
The training which was facilitated by Weh Joice started at 01:00PM at the Conference Hall of The Greens and was attended by 23 persons comprising of 15 Earth Rangers and 8 volunteers of The Greens.
At the end of her 25 minutes power point presentation during which she explained the meaning and differences between arts and crafts as well as educated the young people on what it takes to be a fine artist and craftsman, she engaged the Earth Rangers and volunteers of The Greens to each produce a bracelet with their names on it.
It was really amazing seeing how creative Earth Rangers could be and if they can do this within minutes, then you can imagine how much art, creativity and craftsman skills they have.
The Earth Rangers creativity attests to these wise sayings that “When life gives you hands, make handmade”,
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up” - Pablo Picasso
One of the goals of the Earth Rangers program is to nurture the Earth Rangers to remain the artists they were born.
