BEFORE YOU BUILD YOUR UNITY GAME OR APP

PREPARATION

Before you begin to build your Unity 3D game/app, first your must write a storyboard.

PLOT

It is like writing a movie script or diagram. You can draw it as a splash diagram or write it like a movie script.

Numerate The Plan

Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 etc.

CHARACTERS

Include dialogues (for games)

Include geographic moves from one place to another. Include different scenes.

Describe each character before you begin game.

PLANNING

Planning a game or application should take at least a week or two before you build game or app.

Once the plan/storyboard is complete then follow it as you would a road map to get to a destination.

CREATING INTEREST

A good story should have a beginning, a middle and an end and be interrupted by peaks...i.e, there should be QUIET moments and then DRAMATIC moments.

Think of a mountain range and as you cast your eyes across the mountain peaks, these peaks are the dramatic moments in your game/app and the dips between the mountain peaks are the quiet, REFLECTIVE moments in your story.

CONCLUSION

Always draw up a plan or storyboard before actually building the game/app and follow it exactly as you wrote it.

Sometimes you might want to make changes as you go along, but not so much if you actually spent a week or several weeks properly writing it up and planning it well.
