RE: English - the language of the modern slave

in #ungrip7 years ago (edited)

On a smaller scale, I have to deal with this every day with my son! Let me explain a little better :) He has Asperger's and is literal with everything. We have to phrase things in a certain way to communicate effectively with him and he will hold you to every single word! He is also very clever and can manipulate people with what he says, he seems to understand the English language better then most (definitely better than I do) and has always had a passion for words since he could speak! He loves to learn new words and will use them for ages afterwards to embed them into his memory. I can see how the legal system also uses words in this way to manipulate situations to their advantage. I think I may have a little lawyer on my hands...

Sounds like he may be able to help you! A blessing in disguise! <3 It sounds like you have been going through some valuable training. Took me years to figure this out.

haha yes, I guess I could look at it as training! It is exhausting having to deal with it day in, day out, but I guess you are right! I am very cautious about how I phrase things and hopefully don't make too many fly away comments as a result without being able to back up my reasons behind them lol
