Kajongan Village, Bojongsari Subdistrict, Purbalingga Regency is known as the center of broom craft. About one hundred of these villagers have for generations pursued a broom handicraft business to meet the demands of the local market, outside the region and export markets. The craft of the broom is getting more excited because it is supported by the development of Purbalingga tourism which is increasingly flying. Moreover, Kajongan Village is flanked by tourist areas such as Karangbanjar Village, Bojongsari District, Reptile and Sanggaluri Park and Owabong tourism objects.

Kajongan village is also quite strategic because it is on the main route of Purbalingga-Bojongsari. From the city center, this village is only 4 KM. The Purbalingga-Bojongsari-Bobotsari line is a fairly busy lane and also tourist access. So that both young and old people are increasingly enthusiastic in producing and marketing brooms and other souvenir products.

"There are about 100 of our residents who pursue broom craft businesses. They are mostly located in Hamlet I, Hamlet II and Hamlet III," said the Kajongan Village Chief, Mustangin AMa accompanied by the Head of the Kajongan Village, Makmur.

He added that the broom craft has been practiced for decades by the community. Not surprisingly, Kajongan Village is famous for its broom crafts. There are various types of brooms produced, namely, broom fibers, broom sticks, stirrup brooms, coconut fiber brooms and hamada brooms. In addition to the good quality of raw materials, the quality of their work is also undoubted. The price is also quite competitive.

The broom and souvenir craft is more exciting because it is supported by the village government with the construction of a showroom managed by BUMDes Kajongan. There are dozens of kiosks that enliven the showroom. The kiosks were built from Village Funds for 2015 Budget Year as many as 5 kiosks, in 2016 as many as 2 kiosks and from PADes managed by BUMDes as many as 6 kiosks. With the better support capacity, the broom crafters made a forum to improve their welfare and a better standard of living by forming a group namely the Askarira Sapu Craft Group.
