18 March 2020 - uLog MCO (Day 1)

Doctors are still working like mad

This is the first day of MCO (Movement Control Order) here in Malaysia. We were quite fortunate to be able to get information about a lockdown or MCO rather before it happened.

We were just waking up on Monday, when mom Whatsapped and said that there might a lockdown, as many people on her groups on Whatsapp were talking about it. She advised us to go and purchase all the food that we can before it happens.

I told my wife we shouldn’t go because if there are a lot of people packed into a place, it could be a disaster.

We went anyway because my wife said that she feels it is the right thing to do. I obliged.

Luckily we did go to purchase the food. We went twice because we forgot to get detergent.

That night on Monday on the 16th or March 2020, the prime minister of Malaysia came on the television at 10 PM to announce a MCO. It is not a lockdown, that doesn’t allow people to go out of their homes, but a movement control order that gives people the freedom to go to supermarkets to buy food and essentials every day.

This day, we decided to ramp up our efforts on Twitch because we are working from home now. There will be lots of time to be on Twitch now, since we are home all the time.

All working places are now closed until March the 31st. Even my co-working space is now inaccessible because of the lockdown.

Many people have gone into their homes to work and be confined to their homes for the whole 2 weeks.

I am hoping that we will be getting out of our homes in another 2 weeks.

BUT…

There is always a but…

BUT many are not following the orders of staying at home. They are giving all sorts of reasons to stay out there for no good reason.

The problem is that they don’t know this is what happened in Italy. People were asked to stay at home, but they didn’t take it seriously.

Look at the situation there now.

It is just not a good idea to stay out of your homes with contact with people at all.

So if you are reading this, or if you don’t know, please stay at home, protect your families, have the best quality time with your parents, siblings and maids.

This is going to be over soon. If you are able to confine yourself your homes for the next 2 weeks or 14 days.

Malaysia is better than Italy. Or it won’t be. It’s up to you to decide whether we are going to be safe or not. Italy made their choice and not restrict themselves during the lockdown.

Please. Just please don’t follow them.

I am going to end this with a prayer.

Dear Lord,

Please protect the innocent and the people of Malaysia. Please keeps us safe. So that we will be able to carry out our lives and mission that we have here for you. Thanks be to God.
