in #ulogyesterday

It looks like we are in for several very hot days this week.

To be IN FOR something means that you are going to experience it.

Although it is sometimes used for positive experiences, it is more often used for negative in negative situations.

It's most often used with nouns such as surprise, shock, rude awakening (when you learn something new that might strongly upset you), treat (a positive experience), and weather events (rain, snow, hot weather, etc.).

Examples:

-If they think it's going to be easy, they're in for a big surprise. (It's not going to be easy.)

-If you like cupcakes, you're in for a treat. (The place we are going has cupcakes.)

-If he thinks everyone's going to agree with him, he's in for a rude awakening. (They are not going to agree with him.)

Also, EXCESSIVE (adj.) means that something is more than is normal, safe, or comfortable.
