Time to Kill some green - Watch out for snakes

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

For the past few weeks its been raining, then baking, then raining and then, just because the weather likes to change it up, baking. It's been difficult for me to go out there and take care of the lawn. The main reason being that I would like to avoid death, and the heat was working against my goals.

Now this weekend seems to the weekend when excuses run dry. I've walked out there, it did not rain last night, the lawn seems dry enough and the heat seems.... tolerable. So, it's time for me to go kill some green. That being said, the grass has gotten so tall I'm sure I'm going to find some crazy things.

Last year I remember finding some snakes, a scorpion and some very interesting dung beetles in my quest to kill overgrown grass. Now, the snakes were harmless but one of them ran past my legs making me jump like a lemur. Before you criticize me for being a wuzz, as yourself what should be the natural reaction to a snake speeding past you.

The plans for this weekend are simple, I've asked to borrow a good camera to record a decent quality video. And after today's journey under the sun and a good shower that's the mission at hand.

Yesterdays post had some interesting input to say the least, and I'm going to take that into consideration when drawing up the little plan/project @futurethinker and I are trying to build.

For now however, I'm going to tackle the lawn... Wish me luck, and hopefully this time I won't find any snakes.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful Saturday.

Who wouldn't be afraid when they See a snake? I'd love to know? Lol

LOL don't worry your Lemur reaction to the snake is quite normal. It's funny as a teenager I hated having to cute the grass as we had a pretty large yard in a rural part of South Carolina.

Now that I live in Arizona I miss grass and one of my favorite things to do when I visit my Mother is get outside and cut the lawn. Put a good podcast on and get it done!

I lived in AZ for 7 years, I often think of my days under the dry sun... believe it or not, I miss phoenix.

That is where I have lived for about 6+ years off and on now. I got stationed out here with the Air Force back in 07 and again in 2014 where I have stayed for the time being. I definitely don't hate it here, but at the same time I'm not sure I love it enough to stay forever. I miss having four seasons therefore places like Colorado are on my short list.

Aah get the rest if you can man! Those moments are precious!

You shouldn´t be afraid. If a zombie invasion begins your lawnmower is your best friend!

Should work with snakes as well.

hahahah that's right bud... the only way!!
