in #ulog7 years ago (edited)

Today I went with my Mom to Kabankalan, Negros Occidental Philippines and then we met with her friend. They had a conversation and It's so damn long that they went to a fine eatery to continue their conversation. Then Mom's friend told us a story.

"Let me tell you a story about a rich man's son."" He started.

SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD FIRST

This story is about a son who graduated from theological college.

He was the only son of a very rich man.

He had been promised a great inheritance.

But before he graduated, his father became terminally ill with a cancer.

Immediately after he graduated his father gave him a beautiful Bible with the inscription, "Seek First the Kingdom of God."

Disappointment

His father's health quickly became worse and soon he died.

In the will, all his father's properties were given to the church.

The son had received a great education that any other sons could ever wish for.

He had received an expensive and beautiful car.

He had received an elegant house.

He had received a lot greatness but he was not happy. He wanted more.

A year later...

The son decided that he would read the Bible that his father had given to him.

He unwrapped it.

Then he decided to look at the text, "Seek First the Kingdom of God."

There was a marker where the text was

At the page there was a bank statement with his name. And the account had a million dollars.

"You see my point? We are that Son. We keep on looking for prophecies. We want more signs and we are blind as bats." He concluded after telling us the story.

I was like, "Wow, he was right!" I mean, that was so US! We keep on doing that, we rational being kept on thinking we're always right and we're doing the right thing and then we kept on forgetting who's RIGHT here.

We should open our eyes and not just wait for something that seemed vague. We should trust God, have faith in Him and BELIEVE in Him. Let's not loose faith for that is the only thing that connects us with God.
