Blocktrades is a great tool.

I have converted BTC and ETC into Steem or SBD and automatically fed my Steemit wallet several times in the past.

Note:

Although coins.ph and buybitcoin wallets have worked fine for me, some exchange wallets may not work. Nevertheless, all of my personal (external) wallets have worked just as well.

It's ultra-convenient when you can simply type in you Steemit name and Blocktrades immediately recognizes it.

Another one (a mutual online friend) bites the dust on Veterans of Steemit. Same modus operandi. He woke to find that the icon had simply vanished. And all inquires have been met with silence. Imagine that?
