Anyone that failed it did not pay attention to the rule of order of operations in arithmetic popularly remembered by the mnemonic of BODMAS (Brackets, Order, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction)
Since multiplication comes first before addition 2+2=4
Then 2+4= 6
